On April 18–19, the XX International Bibliological Conference was held at the National Library of Belarus. In two days, more than 50 scientists from Belarus and Russia spoke at the plenary and working sessions.
Belarusian researchers from the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Presidential Library of the Republic of Belarus, representatives of the Belarusian State University, the Belarusian Academy of Music, as well as employees of museums and archives of Belarus spoke at the meetings.
The conference was held in a mixed format, an online broadcast and remote connection of remote participants were organized on April 18. A number of researchers from cultural institutions of the Russian Federation – the Russian State Library, the Russian National Library, the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library, the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the National Library of the Udmurt Republic, the National Library of the Republic of Karelia and others presented the results of their scientific research in a remote format and face-to-face format.
The conference materials are published in the collection "Materials of the XXth International Bibliological Conference".
The conference allowed discussing a number of issues, including the evolution of book culture from handwritten books to the use of modern information technologies, the role of books in modern society, the current state, problems and prospects for the development of book science.
