INFORMATION LETTER

The National Library of Belarus invites you to participate
in the 20th International Bibliological Conference!

Participation formats:
The conference will be held in hybrid format: in-person (Minsk, Nezalezhnasti Ave. 116) and remote participation.

Topic for discussion:
  • Handwritten booklore of Belarus;
  • Francysk Skaryna and his successors – Belarusian printers and publishers of the 16th — 18th cc.;
  • 450th anniversary of the Mamonichi printing house (1574–1623);
  • 395th birthday anniversary of enlightener, church and public figure Symeon of Polotsk (1629–1680);
  • 210th birthday anniversary of historian, archaeologist, ethnographer and local lore expert Eustachy Tyszkiewicz (1814–1873);
  • 200 years since publication of the first collection of archaeographic documents on the history of Belarus “Belarusian Archive of Ancient Letters” (Moscow, 1824), prepared by Ivan Grigorovich with the support of Count Nikolai Rumyantsev;
  • Early-printed editions of the 16th — 18th cc.;
  • Old Believer handwritten and printed book;
  • Belarusian book of the 19th — 20th cc.;
  • 80 years since the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders;
  • 45th anniversary of the Bibliology Research Department;
  • Historical libraries and development of librarianship in Belarus;
  • Registration and description of Belarusian book artefacts;
  • Modern realia of book culture and book art;
  • Belarusian book in domestic and foreign collections;

Working languages: Belarusian, Russian, English.

Terms of participation:
To take part in the conference as a speaker or attendee, please, register online.

Meals, lodging and transportation fees are paid by participants.

Requirements:
The collection of conference papers is planned for publication. We accept original papers of scientific and applied value in the Belarusian, Russian and English languages. The organizing committee is authorized to select papers for presentation at the conference and publication. Please, submit your paper to e-mail redkaja@nlb.by not later than March 15, 2024.


Format requirements for papers:
  1. The author’s / coauthor’s full name, the full name of organization, city, country; the full name of a person who will present the paper at the conference, the paper title.
  2. The paper with the annotation, drawings and enclosures should be up to 6 pages, format А4, Times New Roman, type size 13, 1.5 line spacing, file type DOC, DOCX or RTF (Microsoft Word).
  3. The reference list should be placed after the main body of the paper in alphabetical order. The references should be put in square brackets, for example [3, p. 15].
  4. The summary in Russian and English, each should be up to 400 symbols (including spaces).

Requirements for video-reports:
  • video orientation (landscape mode);
  • video recording should be made with the use of a microphone, with a good lighting and without any additional noises;
  • time duration is up to 10 minutes.

Requirements for report presentation:
  • slide show with the narration should have a slide show time setting;
  • the first slide of the presentation should have the name of the conference, title of the paper and author’s name;
  • time duration is up to 10 minutes.
