The 16th International Bibliological Conference timed to the 500th anniversary of the founding of the monastery and library in Zhyrovichy starts online on May 15.

The annual scientific conference is the main platform of the country for open dialogue on book culture issues.

The conference was planned for May this year, the time of the central celebrations of the 550th anniversary of the appearance of the Icon of the Mother of God and the 500th anniversary of the founding of the Monastery. The subject attracted the interest of numerous scientists from Belarus, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and France. More than 100 reports were registered on the National Library's Internet portal and about 60 articles were submitted for publication in the conference materials collection.

Taking into account the current epidemiological situation in the world, the organizers suggested that the conference should not be cancelled, but that a new format should be found. It is very important for us not to interrupt the tradition of establishing a scientific dialogue and cooperation between researchers from different countries, to give the opportunity to share the results of relevant scientific achievements and projects.

The 16th International Bibliological Conference will take place online with live video broadcasting and the ability to communicate. In the future, the video of the conference will also be available to everyone.

Traditionally, the problematic field of the conference will include issues of the history of book culture from antiquity to modern development trends. The diverse issues of the conference will be interesting to domestic and foreign scientists.
