X International Scientific Conference "Electronic culture" was held

10 June the premises of XXVIII International Specialized Exhibition ‘TIBO’ and National Library of Belarus hosted X International Scientific Conference "Electronic culture" related to ‘Digital collections in the cultural environment’ and devoted to 100th years anniversary of the National Library of Belarus

Ministry of Culture of Belarus and National Library of Belarus were the hosts of the event.

This year representatives of Russia and Uzbekistan made their presentations remotely in the conference "Electronic Culture".

The most recent issues related to development of innovative technologies in the field of culture were raised during the event.

The first conference session was held at the premises of XXVIII International Specialized Exhibition ‘TIBO’. Viktar Pshybytka, Deputy Director General – Director of Information Resources and User Service of the National Library of Belarus, and Tatsiana Slonskaja, Head of the Internet Portal Maintenance Department, were moderators of the event.

The National Library of Belarus held the second session of the event. Tatsiana Lauryk, head of sector for information and analytic activity department, and Lyaciya Tupchyenka-Kadyrova, chief bibliographer of the information and analytic activity department.

During the conference, 45 presentations were reported. Presentations in person, remote and video reports were among them.

Representatives of culture, science, educational institutions and IT sector of Belarus and foreign countries took part in the conference. Among the entities which took part on the Belarussian part were: the National Library of Belarus; the United Institute of informatics Problems of the National Sciences Academy of Belarus; the National Center of Legal Information of Belarus; Limited Liability Company ‘Belarusian Cloud Technologies’; Belarussian Agricultural Library Named After I.S. Lupinovich of the National Sciences Academy of Belarus; Republican Scientific and Technical Library; Brest Regional Library Named after M. Horky; Museum "Castle Complex ‘Mir’"; Literature Museum named after Petrus Brovka and others. Specialists from the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi; the National Library of Udmurt Republic; the Russian State Art Library and other institutions took part in the conference in a remote mode.

The issues related to the cloud technologies in the field of culture, innovative developments in the field of local history and educational recourses, historical and legal heritage, digital collections, disclosing the wealth of libraries and museums collections form Belarus, Russia and Uzbekistan. The successful work of the conference brought together the achievements of entities in all fields of cultural activity and gave impetus to further meetings on the exchange of experience.
